Alain Bailleres
Alain Bailleres was born in Mexico City in 1968. He is a graphic designer by profession, but his artistic inclination is innate. From childhood it began to manifest itself in drawing and painting through his paternal heritage. Over time he has strengthened his style and technique, fusing the figurative into imaginary settings; his subjects spark the joy of life with surrealist, impressionist and cubist traits.
It was during his higher education that he began to develop this skill more intensely, since in his Graphic Communication Design degree he began to integrate design with painting, creating a single universe. He has training in areas such as “expression techniques, the human figure and illustration”, as well as extracurricular studies in painting, semantics, rhetoric and semiotics. This makes his experience in the art world all the more enriching, as a specialist in the “study of form”.
His art has reached Europe, Asia, the United States and Central America, as well as many parts of Mexico, and he has exhibited in various venues in group shows. His work ranks in the top five among the best sellers at one of the most important galleries in Mexico.
His works have the power to create the atmosphere rather than becoming merely an ornamental part of it. One can see the artist's clear ease in conveying everything from the joy and bravery of a bull in the ring to the soft, delicate lull of the sea's waves, always with dynamic focal points that denote a singular mastery of line, form and color.
It is mainly in the form and line of most of his paintings that we find where his strength resides: textures, lines and superimposed figures creating solids on a single plane, where every element coexists without breaking the balance. The absence of shifts in light and of dark tones conveys an atmosphere of serenity without counteracting its movement, which creates a pleasant ambiance for gathering places, work areas or spaces for relaxation.
