Lucía Valencia

Lucía Valencia was born in Mexico City in 1966

1985
She studies drawing, design, and painting at the Istituto per l´Arte e il Restauro, Florence, Italy.

1990
She studies graphic design at the Universidad Anáhuac, South campus

1989-1994
She works as an illustrator at the Dante Escalante studio

1994-1996
Independent illustrator for various clients.

1996
She begins a period of watercolor painting.

2001
She receives the Alfredo Guati Rojo Prize from the Museo de la Acuarela (Watercolor Museum) 2001.

2002-2003
She takes part in the Watercolor Salon on two occasions, with mentions in 2002 and 2003.

2005
Solo exhibition at the German Club of Mexico with 27 watercolor works.

2007
She begins a new stage, developing a technique of acrylic and watercolor.

2008
Solo exhibition in Morelia, with 8 works in acrylic and watercolor, as part of the a! Diseño International Congress

2009
Finalist in the Club Reforma Prize, organized by the newspaper Reforma.

2012
She illustrates, with 19 works in watercolor and graphite, the book “Elegía por Hiroshima y Nagasaki”, by the poet Jal Magrive.

2013
Special Mention at Royal Talens 2013 and a subsequent group exhibition at the MUNAL, Museo Nacional de Arte.

2013
Guest artist to intervene two Snoopy Metlife sculptures, to be auctioned in support of Indigenous women in Chiapas, Mexico.
