Juan Ibarra

Visual artist born in the Port of Acapulco, Guerrero. His
first contact with art was with the muralist master Jaime
Gómez del Payán, in Tixtla Guerrero; with the master Jesús Álvarez
Amaya he studied printmaking, engraving and lithography at the Taller de
la Gráfica Popular, as well as various workshops at the Academy of San
Carlos.

His work encompasses sculpture, painting, engraving, art-object and
illustration. In addition to the use of acrylics and oils, he experiments with
various materials (polyurethane resins, polyester, sands,
plant pigments, automotive materials, industrial talc,
concrete, among others). Mural painting is another facet of his
artistic practice; he has left his art in private institutions,
schools, restaurants and in private homes.

His works have been exhibited and sold in various galleries, cultural
centers and interior design and design firms (MarqCó, Mariangel
Coghlan, Galería Estudio Actual, Casa de Cultura Manuel
Altamirano in Tixtla Guerrero, Casa de Cultura del Bosque de
Tlalpan in Mexico City, Galería de los Cerezos, Galería La Escalera,
among others).

He also ventures into the design and production of pieces of
art and decoration with the interior design firm Estudio Negro.
