Ignacio Manteca
Visual artist born in San Felipe, Guanajuato on January 24, 1958.
He ventured in a self-taught way into the world of volumes with the creation of original pieces in papier-mâché, founding the "Tapi" Workshop.
He formalized his studies at the Academy of San Carlos in "Artistic Anatomy" with the master Dr. Hermilo Castañeda Velasco.
He won on several occasions the Anatomy Competition at UNAM between the medical community and the students of San Carlos.
He has participated in various exhibitions, both solo and group, throughout the country.
He created the monumental bronze sculpture "El Sereno" (3.5 m) for the company "Thales Group", which was donated to Mexico City and is currently exhibited in the lobby of this city's C-4.
He teaches Artistic Anatomy workshops with various materials at his home as well as at various institutions.
