Claudia Nery
Claudia Nery was born in 1963 in Guadalajara, Jalisco. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Architecture and practiced as an architect for eight years. However, her country's crisis changed her destiny.
She began to practice painting, achieving a technique of her own with Chinese and India ink on drawing paper. Later she explored various techniques such as oil, acrylic, monotype, watercolor, charcoal, polymers and sculpture.
Her style is expressed through the roots of Mexican culture and of universal primitive art. She uses symbols and forms that merge together in order to achieve a language of her own, expressing feelings with free interpretation and chromatic intensity. Her current is surrealist and occasionally expressionist.
