Carlos Bazán
Carlos Bazán Ramos (1993- ), a native of San Cristóbal Suchixtlahuaca, Oaxaca, Mexico. In his work one can appreciate the stories and legends of the Mixtec region which run through his veins, all of which can be verified simply by looking at his pictorial work.
In his recently created work he shows an interest in depicting birds and trees of life, constantly creating an interaction between them. His fondness for art began at the age of 15, which is why in 2008 he took part in a workshop held at the cultural center of San Pedro y San Pablo Teposcolula, where he was guided by the Spanish master Enrique Martorell. Since then he has begun to create original work inspired by his surroundings and his daily life.
Carlos Bazán has exhibited in different venues, such as in Monterrey, Durango, Cancun, Cozumel, Mexico City, Chihuahua, Queretaro, Oaxaca, as well as in Spain, and some cities in the United States such as: Los Angeles, Laguna Beach, San Diego, Chicago and Miami.
It is evident that the logic of Carlos Bazán’s work has to do with impressions; they lead the gaze through an ecosystem whose inner meaning perhaps wants to tell us that all is one. It seems that Bazán perceives that color lies not in the sky but on the earth, and that its whole crowded variety is its deepest richness.
Carlos Bazán, a Mexican painter, is without doubt a hand searching for itself in the hidden corners of the imagination. He paints to show what I would call an ecolorido. I mean: an ecosystem of color.
